Allow me to introduce myself

Although I’m originally from the London suburbs, I’ve been living in the Hebrides most of my adult life.

My main work is my willow basketmaking business which I started 20 years ago. I grow and harvest my own organic willow, make and sell willow baskets and teach the craft. Living by the sea was always a dream of mine and it is an incredible place to be now.

Now I’m starting audiobook narrating. I used to read a lot to my lover who was very ill with

cancer. She found it soothing and a way to drift into sleep when the pain was bad. She died

a few years ago.

It’s been a steep learning curve these last few months to get to a place of being able to offer

a professional service. I have enjoyed this new challenge in my life and find it very rewarding

to bring the printed page to life. Our love of stories, as humans, goes back to the beginnings

of language and human society. Being read to can bring companionship and comfort in a

different way than reading a book ourselves.

The stories I have read have become individually special to me, getting to know them so

intimately. I look forward to many more special stories in my life.
